Wellington & Taunton Sub-aqua club owns and operates its own 35 ft. hard boat for exclusive use on branch dives.

The boat, named "Dunribbin" is currently moored at Plymouth Yacht Haven on the Mountbatten peninsular. The vessel is an Offshore 105, by Port Isaac Workboats, with the build & fitting out being completed by the branch membership in 1996.

The engine is a single in-board turbodiesel by Volvo Penta developing 380hp.

The built in fuel tanks Dunribbingive a range of over 100 miles.

There is a large enclosed wheelhouse with seating for around 10 people, a small galley and in the foc'sle there is a head and two bunks.

Maximum number on board is 14 including the nominated skippers. Instrumentation includes GPS & Decca, VHF radio and separate sounder. Dunribbin was initially moored at Dartmouth until it was moved to Plymouth at the beginning of 1999. Since then diving has been focused on the local sites back towards Start Point, to the west into Cornwall and out to the Eddystone lighthouse.

The boat has been as far afield as Lands End. The boat is equipped with oxygen equipment, first-aid kit, fixed and portable fire extinguishers, and flares.

The boat has life raft and "Wreck Finder" sonar equipment with a 3D colour display.

Currently branch members who are able to skipper the boat are qualified to RYA level II power-boating standards and have completed the RYA Day Skipper course, as well as having received in house familiarisation with the boat from members of the original build team.

New skippers are now being trained in accordance with the new training requirements of the club.
